v1.0.0 · Starts in paper trading

TigerTradeBot — a self-hosted trading bot with a strategy lab and hard risk guardrails

For traders who want automated strategies running on their own computer, with live trading only after the strategy has proven itself on paper. Your strategies, trades and broker keys stay in an encrypted database on your machine.

  • macOS .pkg
  • Windows setup.exe
  • Linux .deb · .rpm
  • Browser GUI
  • Docker

What it does

TigerTradeBot features

  • Strategy Lab

Backtest with realistic fills, then promote a strategy step by step: draft, validated, lab-tested, paper, live.

  • AI Strategy Designer

Describe a strategy in chat and get a testable rule set. An optimizer A/B-backtests each suggestion and drops the ones that don’t improve results. Suggestions are never applied for you.

  • AI trade confirmation, opt-in

A model you choose can veto entries, and optionally discretionary exits, before an order goes out. Stop-loss and trailing-stop exits are never gated.

  • Risk guardrails

Guards that never block an exit:

    • Circuit breaker
    • Portfolio risk console
    • Pattern-day-trader and wash-sale guards
    • Dead-man’s switch
    • Re-entry cooldown
  • Your choice of AI

Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek or Bedrock Nova — or local models only. AI Privacy Mode sends sensitive prompts only to LM Studio, Ollama or llama.cpp, and fails closed.

  • Journal and Tax Center

Trade journal and closed-trade analysis, FIFO tax lots, wash-sale detection and a Form 8949-style CSV export. Not tax advice.

How it works

From install to running

  1. Install it and sign in. Two-factor setup is required on first sign-in.

  2. Claim a license by email: a free 12-month paper-trading license (one per email), or the plan you bought.

  3. Design or pick a strategy, backtest it and run it on paper. Connect a broker and go live only when you choose; live trading needs a paid plan.

FAQ

TigerTradeBot questions

Can the AI place trades on its own?

No. Strategy suggestions are advisory and never applied for you. The optional confirmation gate can only veto a trade your strategy proposes, and it never touches a stop-loss or trailing stop.

Does my data leave my machine?

Your strategies, trades and broker keys stay in an encrypted database on your machine. The app talks to your broker, to market-data and AI providers you configure, and to TigerLicense to check your license and fetch updates. AI Privacy Mode keeps sensitive prompts on local models.

Which brokers are supported?

Schwab, Alpaca, Webull and Polymarket. Interactive Brokers is not supported.

Do I need a TAAPI key?

No. The built-in indicator engine is the default.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: a free paper-trading license that lasts 12 months, one per email address. It never sends a real order.

What happens if I uninstall?

Your data stays in your user folder unless you choose to delete it.
